Collapse / Expand isn't a concept EP, but it is aptly named. Each of these songs survived multiple, heavy reworks and they landed where they are now. The title also comes from the fact that a lot of things seem to be ending or beginning or growing.
lyrics
Common composure is walking on thin ice
And everyone knows why
Under the surface, a market of swindlers
reselling alibis
What breaks the cycle? kindness or exile?
I don't have the answers
Flipping a mindset leaves behind bruises
Sometimes the truth hurts
When the problems become pressing
calm and collected begins undressing
Our comprehension is clearly lacking
How can we find out if we're not asking?
It's time to put down the pen and paper
Deal with it right now instead of later
Watching a blowout from the bleachers
We can't afford to keep feeding the meter
Basic assumptions get called into question
Trust but verify
Ration the bloodflow for things not essential
This all can't survive
I don't need progress, I just need movement
Something's gotta change
So can you feel it now as certain as the sun
shining through a summer rain
When the problems become pressing
calm and collected begins undressing
Our comprehension is clearly lacking
How can we find out if we're not asking?
It's time to put down the pen and paper
Deal with it right now instead of later
Watching a blowout from the bleachers
We can't afford to keep feeding the meter
Time's up, tick tock
No more small talk

I was hearing this over and over back in 2013, made me feel validated when I had depression and severe anxiety. You visiting my home country México for the VConcert event right after the album came out and hearing your music live was a dream come true, what are the odds. Thanks Daniel. zeoal
